Tips for Turtle Watching: To maximize your turtle watching experience in Tortuguero National Park, consider the following tips:
- All turtle nesting tours are conducted at night only, between 7pm and 10pm.
- Spaces are limited to 15 people per visit, so it is necessary to book well in advance.
- Visiting hours are assigned through a draw on the same day of the tour in the afternoon. Then, participants are informed of the assigned schedule.
- Respect the turtles’ natural habitat by keeping a safe distance and refraining from using flash photography.
- Wear dark, non-reflective clothing to minimize disturbance to nesting turtles.
- Follow the instructions of your tour guide and adhere to park regulations to ensure the safety of both visitors and turtles.
